The Carson City School District’s Nutrition Department will work over the summer to implement a new point-of-service system and online nutrition program portal. The current online payment method goes through My Payments Plus, but starting this fall, all food related payments will be through the Titan Family Portal.

Thirty-four juniors and seniors from Carson High School (CHS) were honored at Nevada Governor’s Mansion last Tuesday evening for their efforts in a university level introductory education course. In partnership with the College of Education at the University of Nevada – Reno, CHS offers the EDU 110 course for students interested in pursuing a teaching career.

Dr. Bernard Farzin, Chief Medical Officer for Prominence Health Plan, will officiate a ribbon cutting ceremony with opening remarks by Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell.

The events are designed for students and parents to tour their new school, meet teachers and administrators and build on the fun and excitement about going to school.

The Carson City School District took time at the School Board meeting last night to recognize 22 students with the “Distinguished Student Award.” The student winners were selected by administrators and recognized in pairs from their respective schools as having specific qualities, skills and characteristics that distinguished them.

The Carson City Library’s Pedal Library will be busy delivering books to students attending summer school. Now through the end of June, the teardrop trailer pulled behind a bike will provide up to 60 pounds of books at each elementary school within the Carson City School District. The mobile library will be offering mobile wifi and charging station soon.
