The Position
The Carson City School District Board of Trustees is seeking a highly qualified, outstanding educational leader to serve as superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS

The Board requires the superintendent to be a strong educational leader with professional experience including:
  • Holds a valid Nevada Administrative credential or eligible for licensure as an Administrator in Nevada.
  • Master's Degree or other advanced degree from accredited college or university.
  • Cumulative of at least 5 years of Superintendent, principal, district office, or comparable leadership experience preferred.
  • Public school teaching experience.
  • Has experience with labor and bargaining groups.
  • Demonstrates an ability in business practices.
  • Proven record improving student achievement.
  • Shows commitment to students' needs through support of curriculum planning and development.
  • For the selected candidate, the Board will offer a salary range of $170K-205K and competitive benefits package dependent upon experience. 
  • Communicates effectively with people in the District, the Board, teaching staff, administrative staff, classified personnel, parents, students and community members.
  • Shows commitment to excellence in student achievement and effective learning skills.
  • Has a proven record of school administration and fiscal responsibility.
  • Possesses personal and professional integrity, self-confidence and flexibility.
  • Has empathy and concern for others.
  • Has the ability to establish a collaborative climate of high expectations for the Board of Trustees, school staff, students, parents and community.
  • Has experience to improve educational opportunities for a diverse population of students.
