Dress Code

EAGLE VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL

       Student Dress Code 2023-2024

  • SHIRTS/SWEATSHIRTS:
    • Any color shirt may be worn for school. Others may be required for specific events.
    • No low-cut shirts or midriff, halter shirts, or tube shirts. Shirts that expose a student’s midriff when the arms are raised above the student’s head will require the student to change shirts.
    • Shirts must be at least waist length, but may not be long hanging (no more than quarter thigh length).
    • Sleeves must cover the shoulders of the student. No muscle shirts, backless shirts, spaghetti straps, or tank shirts.
    • Hooded or zippered sweatshirts are NOT ALLOWED TO BE WORN IN THE BUILDING, except as designated by administration. Only crewneck sweatshirts are allowed.
    • Sweatshirts must have no pockets.
  • PANTS/SHORTS:
    • All pants and shorts must be secured at waist level.
    • Sagging of pants and shorts is strictly prohibited.
    • All shorts must be knee length, or have leggings underneath.
    • No Athletic Shorts.
  • DRESSES/SKIRTS, LEGGINGS:
    • No yoga, jegging-type, pajamas, sweatpants, or joggers of any kind are allowed.
    • Non-transparent leggings are required under all skirts and dresses. Leggings must be below the knee.
    • Leggings may NOT be worn without skirt, dress, or shorts.
  • BELT (Optional):
    • If a belt is worn, it must be appropriate for school. Belts must be free of spikes, chains, or inappropriate messages.Belts must have less than a 5-inch tail extending from the buckle.
  • SHOES:
    • Shoes with hard/rubber soles must be worn.All shoes requiring shoelaces must be laced and tied appropriately.
    • No sandals, slippers, crocs, or slides allowed. Must cover foot entirely.
  • JACKETS/COATS:
    • Fleece, jean, and thin jackets are allowed.
    • No winter coats, outerwear, or trench style coats allowed to be worn inside building.
  • ACCESSORIES:
    • Jewelry and make-up is allowed in accordance with CCSD/EVMS dress code policy.
    • Scarves will be treated as an accessory if they are lightweight and decorative.Heavy, oversized, winter scarves will be treated as outwear and cannot be worn inside the building.
    • HATS, BANDANAS, OR OTHER HEADWEAR/COVERINGS OF ANY TYPE ARE NOT CONSIDERED ACCESSORIES AND CANNOT BE WORN IN THE BUILDING BY ANY STUDENT.
    • All clothing and accessories must be free of gang, tobacco, nicotine, drugs, alcohol, weapons, violence, vulgar language/illustrations, or discrimination.
    • Rips, tears, and holes are not permitted in any clothing.
  • Any questions or clarifications regarding this dress code are up to the discretion and final approval of the site Administration.

 

Any student who does not dress in accordance with the Eagle Valley Middle School Dress Code will be issued appropriate clothing to remain at school or parents will be contacted to bring appropriate clothing to school. Appropriate progressive disciplinary action will be taken, by school administration, for students who do not follow the dress code which may include detention, in-school suspension, or out of school suspension.
